Lynsey Danielle Rout
Specialist Chartered Physiotherapist
Since graduating in 1999, I have worked in a number of NHS settings. Having gone through Junior Rotations and a subsequent Senior II post, I left the acute sector to undertake community work. I worked with Norfolk Community Health and Care in West Norfolk since 2002, in a variety of positions both clinically and managerially. I left my substantive position in May 2018, having set up the Intermediate Care Service in West Norfolk, consisting of 45 community rehabilitation beds. My specialty is elderly care, including frailty, falls, rehabilitation and respiratory.
Over the years, I have been involved with piloting SystmOne electronic patient records in the community as I am passionate about technology supporting clinical work.
Since 2013, I have undertaken medicolegal work in Ireland. I have always worked for the defence and my cases range from fallers, with various orthopaedic problems, bariatric patient, to assessment of current conditions to aid a liability and/or quantum settlement. The medicolegal work consists of 2 types 1) Reading the documentation provided and writing a report, or 2) Reading documentation, visiting the patient and physically assessing, then writing a report. Either report can go to court, but to date all have been settled prior to the court appearance. I have undertaken court skills training.
